Top 5 Morning Rituals Of Successful People – Start Now

Woods in the Morning

What do all highly successful people have in common? Well, you will say things like money, power, fame, etc. However, I will say they all share one essential habit, or in this case, habits.

They all begin their day early in the morning performing the same positive rituals that allow them to stay positive in their life, work, and relationships.

What is a Morning Ritual?

Well, a ritual is a set of fixed actions, and sometimes words performed regularly.

Therefore, a morning ritual is a set of actions performed in the morning. So simple!

I bet the next picture is a part of almost everyone’s morning ritual!

Successful Morning Ritual

However, many people start their days with the same harmful rituals.

For years I was doing what every single person around me was doing as well.

So I can imagine that a morning ritual of many of you guys out there goes something like this.

First, you hit the snooze button on your alarm for a couple of times.

Then, at the last moment, you jump out of bed to quickly get ready for work. You skip breakfast, or you eat something speedily and unhealthy.

You rush to work to avoid being late and to avoid your boss yelling at you.

And the day goes by in the same tone until you return to your bed at night.

A start like that will cause you to feel anxious, stressed and exhausted at the very beginning of the day.

Moreover, those feelings can build up inside which will eventually transform a person into, at least to say, a grumpy individual.

To go throughout your day fretting and frowning, cursing and yelling will do you no good what so ever.

That kind people are not a highly a successful in life.

To start your morning with the habit of negative thoughts, actions, and feelings is a one-way ticket to failure, unfulfillment, grudge, and negativity in general.

That is not the door which leads to success in life, trust me.

However!

You Decide How Your Morning Will Be!

When you wake up, you have two options:

Success, happiness, and fulfillment – or – Failure, anxiety, and emptiness

It is up to you to make your choice.

And, I will give my best to help you out to chose the first one. In this post, I will explain how to start your day off with the rituals that breed success.

First of all.

Why Are Morning Rituals Important?

Why is it important to eat, sleep, or clean yourself?

Look!

Starting your day on the right foot can make your day.

All highly successful people worship their mornings.

They had managed to CREATE positive habits they perform as soon as they wake up.

They had created an attitude that they will benefit from those habits and they do!

In fact, by implementing a morning ritual to your life, you can move your growth and success on to the next level.

I can guarantee that you will increase your energy, your health, your happiness, your productivity, your income, your relationships, just by implementing a morning ritual in your life.

Now, let’s get practical so you too can become a highly successful person!

Top 5 Morning Rituals for Success

Many of highly successful people owe their success to their morning ritual.

That is not a secret anymore.

They are not smarter, or better than you and me.

They merely managed to master the morning grudge.

Their thoughts, feelings, and actions are in alignment 24/7.

For you to get in the same alignment start your day with:

1. Practice Being Grateful.

If you start your day off with a positive thought and feeling, it will attract more same during the day.

It is a Law of Universe. And we live by those laws, whether you are aware of it or not.

Essential Morning Habits of Successful People

Therefore, every morning when you rise from your bed take think about some of the wonderful things for which you are grateful.

Even better, take a piece of paper and write them down.

Say thank you for the food, for the shelter, the clothes, the air you breathe, for the company… Try to list as many things as possible. They don’t have to be big things.

You can say thank you even for reading this blog post.

Make your list and stick to it every day! Feel the gratitude for all of what you have, and eventually, you will have more.

2. Clean Your Body

Your body is your temple, your vehicle in this life.

Make sure you clean and maintain it properly so it can serve you longer.

Many people don’t believe in the healing powers of water.

They don’t say without reason; the water is a source of life!

So, take a shower, brush your teeth, let the water washes away your drowsiness and wake you up.

Try to drink a glass full of water as soon as you get up from bed to wake up your metabolism.

I like to take a cold shower in the morning from time to time.

Man! It gets you in alignment in a matter of five seconds.

3. Exercise Your Body

Fresh blood flow in your brain and muscles first thing in the morning will give you a pump of energy for the rest of the day.

You don’t have to go to the gym and do heavy reps.

Instead, go out for a brisk walk, jog or run, ride a bike for 20 min, do 50 pushups, squats, lunges, go for a swim, dance…

Create your small morning workout routine, and you will never have to pay for a gym membership ever again.

That is a promise!

4. Read or Meditate

Your brain is like a muscle.

To keep it in shape and healthy you will have to take care of it and exercise it as well.

Take a good read in your hands and read in peace for at least 20 minutes.

Or, if you like, you can start with meditation to prepare your mind for the following day.

You don’t have to become Buddhist.

Just sit down in chair or sofa, close your eyes, and breathe deeply.

Both of these two will relax your mind.

To be successful in life, you will have to be relaxed throughout the day.

Sometimes you will have to face some hard decision, or meet some not so relaxed people.

Maintaining a calm attitude in every situation will soon become your biggest asset.

When you are relaxed enough, vibrant and full of energy, you can execute the last part of the ritual.

5. Plan the Day Around Your Goals in Life

All highly successful people spend their days chasing their high dreams and goals.

A good action plan is necessary if you want to be faster and more accurate in the pursuit.

Having a high goal is also called having a purpose in life.

Your intent doesn’t have to be something of the worldwide impact.

It merely has to be something that impacts your world.

It should be a reason for you to get up from the bed at the first sound of the alarm clock.

Something you enthusiastically pursuit every day.

Oh! I almost forgot one more essential thing for your morning.

Go to the kitchen, throw some eggs on the pan and enjoy the day!

The Benefits of the Morning Rituals

By following these 5, you can significantly improve your quality of life.

The benefits will be numerous:

  • more energy
  • better health
  • increased productivity
  • positive spirit
  • peaceful mind
  • higher awareness
  • improvement in any field of life

Benefits of the Morning Rituals

Implement those five habits, and add to them more if you wish.

These five will help you to get started.

After you taste the success that comes from morning ritual you will want more.

It will take a lot of willpower and persistence to create these positive habits and to make it happen.

But always remember, for the bad habits you own, it took some time to develop and fix in your subconscious mind.

The same amount of time and effort will seek to override it.

I assure you it can be done.

And to do it you have to remember the first law of learning.

Repetition, repetition, repetition of my friend!

There is no magic button to make this happen.

It is all up to you and your effort.

What is Morning Ritual Mastery?

While ago when I was searching for ways and means to create my morning routine, I found a program, Morning Ritual Mastery by Stefan James.

Stefan is a highly successful person, a great teacher, and a great guy.

Morning Ritual Mastery is just a part of his Project Lifemastery which is designed to help people all around the world to become more happier and successful in life.

While creating his highly successful business he discovered something.

He actually found a huge difference in his results in life once he managed to MASTER his mornings. Based on his learnings and experiences he created this program.

Morning Ritual Mastery is a seven-day morning ritual program.

During those seven days, you can learn how to empower your body, mind, and soul at the beginning of your day.

Furthermore, how to keep that powerful feeling throughout the day until you wake up the next one.

The purpose of the program is to teach you how to prepare your mindset so you can become a MASTER.

When we manage to master ourselves first thing in the day, we can master any other difficulty we encounter later on during the day.

One key aspect of the program is it helps to eliminate wrong beliefs about the mornings that we created during our lifetime.

Because of our busy schedules, at one point in life, we start to think that we don’t have enough time for ourselves.

Then, we enter into a vicious cycle of reacting instead of being proactive.

Once you learn how and you get in a cycle of performing the proactive rituals every day, you will be amazed by the changes in your life.

Why do I Recommend Morning Ritual Mastery?

Now, before I explain why do I recommend the program let me tell you about the way I was living before.

My mornings were not one for envy.

One of the first things I did after I wake up was lighting up a cigarette to have with my cup of coffee.

The nasty habit I managed to quit before I went into a Morning Ritual Mastery, but some others were not so good as well, and I needed a change.

I use to wake up, and I would immediately start to curse the day in front of me.

I was not aware of my behavior, moreover, I was not aware of how it was affecting my day, later on, my whole life.

It was time for a change!

I remembered how I was enjoying mornings when I was I kid, but now, the situation was the total opposite.

Oh did I wonder why?

Shortly after, I realized that back when I was a kid I was happy because life was different in my eyes.

I didn’t know what worry is; I was happy because I was doing what I wanted from start to finish of my day.

Then school and job came in and gradually destroyed happiness.

The Morning Ritual Mastery showed me what I was doing wrong and thought me how to fix it.

You see, when I was a kid, I was proactive from the moment of waking up.

First thought was “yaaay, outside, play, fun, friends, food” and I would immediately start to pursuit all those thoughts in my mind.

Later on, life gave me a different set of thinking to begin my day.

Instead of being proactive I became reactive, that is why I was cursing and smoking.

After just seven days in the program, I saw my flaws and managed to replace those bad habits with new ones.

It took me seven days with the help of Morning Ritual Mastery to change my thoughts.

However, a lot more effort was needed on my behalf to turn those thoughts into facts. The program is here to assist, and it does a tremendous job!

In the end, I hope this post helped you with your morning ritual, and I hope I will see you one day among highly successful people.

  1. You’re so right about these.
This whole year I was stressed and grumpy and so angry all the time because I was trying to do a million things at the same time. Of course I couldn’t do all of them -never mind do them right- and I was frustrated.
I’ve started with exercising and planning my day for the last month and I already feel calmer and less stressed.
I will try the rest of your list to see how they work for me.
    Thanks for the article!

    • Hi Jenny,

The old one “Trying to hold too many strings at once.” is not the old one without reason.

There is a chapter in personal development Bible, Think and Grow Rich, named Organized Planning. Napoleon Hill emphasizes the significance of proper organization of things to achieve success in any field of life.

I am glad to hear you are doing better and better at it. Keep on working in the same tone and the results will be incredible. Once you look back after a couple of years, you will find out that you discovered a new, better you.

      All the best,
      Ivan

  3. Great post once again man.
I fully concur with the fact that successful people follow rituals and they do the work.
What I have found about all these habits you mentioned about successful people need to be established by persistence and commitment, This would explain why successful people are such great achievers, it is because they have patience and commitment.
A regular person may do these for a day and feel it is useless or they may even criticize it and say it is stupid and silly. These attitudes that they have are exactly what will make the unsuccessful forever in their lives.
In success a person needs to do things that seem crazy because they know that it will benefit them more than if they just follow the herd.
I make it a ritual to read at least 10 positive and success books per year.

    • Hi Thabo,

      Happy to see you back!

You see, the fact is we are lazy by our nature so to discipline yourself is a big challenge for every human being. Every highly successful person was a procrastinator and a skeptic. However, they managed to change that. Eventually, they gained power over their lazy nature, or in another word, they became MASTERS of themselves.

One a person decides to take control and stop following the herd, he or she will stumble upon of the hardest challenges in life, the problem of self-control. In the end, the number of significant personal qualities that will yield will be astonishing; patience, faith, decision making, self-reliance…

1i am happy that you are one of those individuals who follow himself and not the herd. Keep on reading those books. The knowledge is power. And, with what you feed your mind you will eventually become! See you next time!

  5. Hello Ivan, I am so happy to have found this site. I am a big believer in we are what we think and do. And I have had to learn how to make daily changes. Did you know that all successful people also make their beds first thing in the morning because it adds to the concept of accomplishment? Isn’t that cool? And i will look into morning mastery, it sounds great. Thanks for all you do.
    In peace and gratitude, ariel

    • Hi Ariel,

I am even more happy that you found my site! Oh yes, I did know. One of the first things I learned about self-discipline, personal development, and success is to make my bed in the morning. I agree that it adds a sense of accomplishment, I believe I wrote that in one of my posts here. Please, do look into it because it is amazing. Hope you will like the teachings. All the best.

  6. Hi Ivan,

Yes, I was that rushing like a lunatic in the morning person. Always with the alarm on and off and then slump out of bed. It was worse because there was barely a job in my life that I even liked going to. There was always ‘something’ that just made it unbearable.

We go to school and then realize how rubbish job pays are and then we got to pay taxes on what we are trying to survive on! Well, least I got my A- on my Shakespear Paper – what a waste of time and the teachers need to be re-educated on their curriculum because school is NOT preparing anyone for anything in life!!

Alas, I changed my grumpy as hell morning routine in to applying Five Principles.

Just for today, I will not worry. …
Just for today, I will not be angry. …
Just for today, I will be grateful. …
Just for today, I will do my work honestly. …
Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

One a day. In the morning I use to repeat the first one, solemny like a promise that- JUST FOR TODAY- I will NOT worry on anything whatsoever! And so, just for that day, I worried on nothing.

Next morning same thing but the second one and so on. When finished, start from the top again.

This ALWAYS put me in the right mind set to know that all things are transient and conditions are forever in flux, so we mustn’t hurt ourselves, by attaching anxiety etc to our desires for any day. Just live – … we are not here to be slaves to no economy.

That for me was my morning ritual. I would not stop until I felt a sure peace over me and by God NOTHING would I allow to take it from me during the day.

    It really works.

Thanks Ivan and your article on morning rituals of successfull people I could relate to very well. Great and please keep them coming.

    – Philip.

    • Hi Philip,

Nice to see your comment again.

When I think about it the roots of the problem(s) in our school system, they are too thick and it would take me a couple of pages to dig them all out. Poor teachers are just victims of the economic system so they shouldn’t be blamed at all because the system molds them to become incapable. Hats off to those who know what they are doing! I know I had a few of them during my years of molding, and I still like to think about pieces of advice I got from them.

It is a great morning routine you have there. I like how you put it in a cycle of day by day repetition. There is a rule I learned about forming a new habit. Psychology says it takes thirty days to develop a new habit. However, if you miss only one of those thirty days, you will have to go for new thirty days. And if you lose again, the same thing applies, and so on. The fact is we all tend to get mad or worried at least once during those thirty days, and it is our nature to be like that. So repetition is a key in a process, as you know already.

Keep on doing it, and remember, persistence pays off.

Thank you, Philip, for your comment on my post about morning ritual of successful people. I will, indeed! Have a nice one!

      Ivan
