How to Wake up in the Morning Feeling Good? – Start Your Day on the Right Foot!

How to Wake Up Feeling Good

It can be hard to wake up in the morning feeling good whey your first thought is getting out of the comfy and warm bed, in my opinion, the best place in the world. However, if you want to know how to jump out of bed feeling good and fresh, I have a fantastic tip for you!

I have been both worlds, so I have the experience behind me that works for me every time, and it works for everyone who is willing to try.

The thing is, all you have to do is to create a feeling equal to or higher than the warmth of your bed.

The feeling which will push you out without thinking about going back. It has to be something that moves your juice.

Now, in my experience, it was hard to get over my habit of hitting the snooze button and go back to dreamland for another round.

The practice which owns 90% of people in the world, at least!

It took a few months of effort and self-discipline to be able to enjoy uncovering and get going.

I had to battle my mind really hard.

Ultimately, the battle I won.

Therefore, it gives me the vast confidence to say to you that you too can do it if you will follow the one, the only, and the best tip you will get to learn how to get up in the morning feeling good.

The Best Tip to Wake up in the Morning Feeling Good

Control your feelings in the morning, not the other way around!

It is a well-known fact that our feelings rule us.

Feelings dictate our state of body and mind.

They are hard to conquer and very few people can do so.

Feelings are slaves of habit, and luckily you can control your habits.

Therefore, once you learn how to use them to your advantage, you will learn how to get up in the morning feeling good.

The morning grudge is nothing but a habit, a feeling which can be overrun into excitement or enthusiasm.

The trick is to give your mind something else to think about instead of your habitual thinking about how you don’t want to get up.

Early in the morning, as soon as we wake up, we have two states of mind and feeling to chose from.

  • REACTIVE STATE
  • PROACTIVE STATE

In the REACTIVE state, we react to things and circumstances which leads to feeling bad about getting up.

For example, the reactive negative feeling can be induced by the thought of getting up from the warm and comfy bed into a cold room.

Postponing the task becomes a habit and the behavior and lousy feeling sticks.

In the reactive state, we tend to undermine ourselves.

In the PROACTIVE state, we take action immediately, without thought given we move and we don’t let our idle thoughts and feelings to interfere.

By habit, we cut them right at the source.

For example, getting up from the bed at the first sound of the alarm clock and getting things done as soon as you open your eyes.

You sure got enough to understand that both states are the product of a habit.

Therefore, the best tip to wake up in the morning and induce those good feelings is to proactively start to work on something which lifts your spirits up!

In my case, I created a series of habits.

So my advice is,

Create a Morning Ritual

A ritual is a series of tasks which is performed without conscious thinking, you just go and do it.

For example, I believe that almost everyone who will read this brushes teeth in the morning as a part ritual incorporated in behavior a long time ago.

Probably as a small child.

The objective is to create a series of morning habits which will lift you up, and fill you with positive energy.

Moreover, a successful morning ritual will make you look forward to every new morning to come.

The morning ritual should be constructed in a way to empower your body, mind, and spirit all in one.

Moreover, when you finish with performing your morning ritual, you should be ready to move the mountains!

In my opinion, the morning ritual stands behind 90% success in life.

Every highly successful person knows how to empower his or her body, mind, and spirit from the start of the day, thereby, allowing the success to enter the subconscious mind when it is most receptive.

That is in the morning, of course.

Our subconscious mind controls almost all of our behavior, and almost all of our behavior is habitual.

Therefore, by reverse engineering, we have to change our habits to change our behavior.

We have to influence the subconscious mind to change those reactive morning patterns and switch them with positive ones.

How to Start a Morning Ritual that Feels Good?

I already mentioned the three parts of your being which will have to be covered by your morning ritual to experience that positive high in the morning.

Therefore, think of your body, mind, and spirit.

For every one of those three areas, find a task or two which makes you feel good and start PROACTIVELY doing those tasks from the moment you hear the alarm clock.

If you have to, place your alarm on the other side of the room.

This way, you will have to get up to shut it off, and while you are on your feet, why not do something that makes you feel good.

You are free to create your morning ritual any way you want, as long as it covers all three parts of your being.

1.) BODY

Do at least one thing to wake up your body.

Short exercises like jumping jacks, or a series of pushups, will induce production of hormones such as serotonin, a hormone of happiness which will give you a power pump immediately.

Moreover, you will start the blood flow which will wake you up quickly so that you won’t need a coffee at all.

Try to add a glass of water to this to wake up your metabolism as well.

2.) MIND

Next, stimulate your mind.

Like the muscles, the brain when used continuously and constructively will stimulate the release of happy hormones.

Therefore, read, write, draw, or meditate, visualize, even play video games if they will encourage your cognitive functions.

Some mornings I play a mental exercise video game on my phone for at least 10 minutes to stimulate my creativity, focus, and concentration, memory, mental agility, etc.

3.) SPIRIT

And last but not least, wake up your spirit.

You can listen to your favorite music, or if you are a believer in spiritual power, you can meditate, or you can pray giving thanks.

In my experience, being grateful for everything I have and everything I will receive, makes me stay humble and in a positive spirit.

Here I have given you a few great advice about how to start a morning ritual.

Now, the last input is equally, if not the most important of them all.

Stick to it for One Month, and You Will be Feeling More than Good

Whenever we start something new in life, we become excited about it very quickly.

However, after a short time, we tend to get satisfied and then after even shorter time, we quit.

This is a cold, hard fact. It is in our psyche.

This is a reason why many people experience failure in life, is merely the lack of persistence.

A small percentage of people who stay behind their choices long after the excitement is gone, usually, get what they want from life.

The other, a more significant portion, live the life with a lump of regret in their throats.

I am talking from experience because I was living like that, with that lum in my throat.

However, thanks to small changes which I persist in implementing in my life, it gets better and better with every morning.

No one knows how long it takes for a new habit to develop.

Some brain scientists say it takes 21 days, some say 30 days, and the others go up to say it takes 90 days for our subconscious mind to accept a new pattern of behavior.

No matter what you stick to your morning ritual for at least 30 days.

If you miss a day, make sure you go back and start new 30 days until you manage to stick to your new habit for 30 days in a row.

After that, I promise, you won’t stop!

Become a Morning Ritual Master!

Morning ritual is the best thing you can do to reverse those negative feelings and turn them into your strengths, your powers.

In my experience, the set of goals I set up for my self every evening for the next day, brings me more success with every new morning to come.

You will be amazed by the benefits of your morning ritual.

After 30 days, or even more, when you turn back and look at how you used to live to compare it with your present, you will giving yourself a tap on the back.

Your body will become stronger, your mind will be sharper, and your spirit will be in balance.

You will become a true master of yourself who do not let petty things to annoy him.

You will get out of the bed feeling more than good!

My last piece of recommendation at the end of this post is a MORNING RITUAL MASTERY.

Become a Morning Ritual Master

Morning Ritual Mastery is a seven-day program created by Stephan James, an entrepreneur and a personal coach, who long time ago became a morning master.

In his program, he teaches how to empower your body, mind, and spirit, and how to get your life to the next level by starting first thing in the morning.

I use this program for several months now, and all I can say I am more than grateful that I am a part of the Project Life Mastery community.

My business, love life, social life, health, and happiness went to some whole other level.

I used the knowledge that I got from the program, mixed it with my experience, and poured it into this post.

I hope I translated the message correctly.

You can step on the neck of those lousy mornings, you can wake up feeling good every day!

All you have to do is make a decision to start…

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below, and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Ivan

  1. Another unbelievable article, another source of inspiration!
One of the main reasons I love your website so much – it always makes me feel better!
I think many people will have a great use of your tips in here – waking up in the morning is not everyone’s favorite thing to do.
I, for one, am a morning person.
It doesn’t mean that I didn’t find all this information useful.
I’ve been thinking to ask you:
I would really love if you can write a post about easier falling to sleep.
Maybe you can search in your big bag of amazing ideas for me and I’m sure – many more like me?
I’m finding falling to sleep extremely difficult recently.
With all the stress we all have in life – who can blame me?
    It’s just a suggestion.
I’ll be looking forward to anything else you will share with us!

    • Hi Boryana,

It is so lovely to see you again. I am happy as always to provide my service.

I have already few ideas on my mind. I will let it sink into my mind and come back to it in the next few days to write one for you! I will let you know as soon as I get it done. From the top of my head here are few:

      – Try to meditate before bed. It could be challenging at the beginning to quiet your mind after a day of business. However, this practice, when mastered, will become your long-term asset. For a start, try to lay down in your bed, breathe deeply on your stomach, and count your breaths. Basically, “count the sheeps” 🙂

-A long walk or a mild workout a few hours before sleep time can help you to release that stress, therefore, help you to sink in your bed quickly.

      – A warm shower has therapeutic benefits on our whole mind-body system. It helps to relax the tension.

Hope this helps you for now.

  2. Great article and great idea to start a morning ritual. I do something similar. I start the night before though by going through my day in my thoughts and kind of finishing the day that way. Then I set intentions for the next day and when I wake up, I remember those intentions and start my day.
I like doing yoga and meditation which I suppose is what you were saying about exercise and spirit. The main thing for me is though to focus my thoughts. Thanks again for this food for thought.

    • Hi Petra,

That is a great way to mentally prepare yourself for the next day. One tip though, write down those intentions. That way you free your mind for more ideas to come. Good job on yoga and meditation, those too are sure the great way to lift up your body and spirit. Thank you for leaving a comment. I wish you all the best.
